ABOUT US

House of Hannah and the main purpose behind this extension was to promote our local textiles which is an important cultural heritage. Up until now we have been designing primarily for the local market where our textiles have been used as puan (wrap around) - a traditional wear. Our dream however is to extend the markets for these exquisite handloom textiles outside the state and the country by exploring and promoting its use in various creative forms and designs.

Our design house has been using these textiles in various garment forms including wedding gowns, shawls and ponchos. However, our goal is to reach out to buyers and fellow entrepreneurs who will explore exciting and creative ways to incorporate our handloom textiles for their products be it bags, accessories, home décor, furniture or others.

Under House of Hannah, we have employed more than 20 hand weavers (using loin loom) as of now who are all women and this avenue has provided them with a stable source of income to feed their families. In turn, working and collaborating with these women has given us a rich learning experience and a great sense of fulfillment to our work. With regards to the designs of our products, some of them are heavily inspired by traditional design while others are completely original in nature and the fabrics have all been produced with traditional handloom which gives it its unique texture and appearance. We also have few designs where we have worked with hand embroiderers. As I am very passionate about hand work, we’ve fused together handloom textiles with hand-embroidered works in some of our designs.
In recent years, we have also taken steps to produce and grow our own cotton, which has also helped generate an income for the farmers. We have been experimenting with this project for more than 3 years now. However, the whole production process has been very slow and expensive since the entire yarn making process is all manually done. But, we are happy to be part of

Finally, we are very happy and encouraged to see that so many have taken an interest in our products. We are hereby attaching some of our collection, hoping you will enjoy it as much as we enjoyed every process in making them. We would be very happy to hear from you. Some of our works can also be viewed on our Instagram handles as mentioned below.
